When you look at home desing many people tend to focus on the aesthetic. Be sure pay equal attention to the natural flow of a home. How will you interact with the space on a daily basis? The drop zone, is a practical example of intentional design at work.
Given that sustainability “makes sense” from a business standpoint it’s easy to see why it caught on. Saving money and leveraging it from a marketing perspective is obvious. The problem is that the actual “greenness” of a product can get real murky.
What style is it? I get asked this question quite often, and it is usually difficult to answer simply or succinctly. Not because houses today lack style - quite the opposite - it’s just that the 'style' of a home today is based on a host of influences, one of which may be the rules of a given historical period.
